Easy Homemade Crescent Rolls

Easy Homemade Crescent Rolls

You won't ever go back to store bought crescent rolls again after trying these!

Ingredients

1/2 cup warm water

2Tbsp yeast (active dry yeast or quick rise)

6Tbsp unsalted butter, softened

1/3 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup warm milk

2 tsp salt

5 cups all-purpose flour

*2Tbsp butter, melted (for brushing rolls after baking)

Directions

- Mix your yeast and warm water together well. Set aside.

- Cream your butter and sugar either by hand with spatula or using a hand mixer. Add your eggs and mix well. Scrape edges of the bowl and add your milk, salt, and yeast mixture. Combine well.

- Add 5 cups of flour slowly in incriments to your wet mixture until just combined. *Don't over mix these.

- Knead by hand or with a dough hook on your mixer for about 5 minutes or until a soft dough forms. Add up to a 1/2 cup of extra flour, 1 Tbsp at a time, if needed. Your dough will be sticky but should pull away from the sides of the bowl.

- Move dough to a lightly greased bowl and cover with saran wrap. Let rise for 30-45 minutes in a warm place. *If you keep your house at a cooler temp, place your covered bowl in the oven (with the oven off!) for your dough to rise.

- After your dough has doubled in size, punch down your dough, and dump onto counter or work space. Split your dough in half, and shape each half into a ball.

- Roll each half into a large circle about 14 inches or so wide. Using a pizza cutter, slice into 12 wedges like a pizza.

- From here, you can simply roll each wedge from the wide end to the tip making your crescent roll, or you can fill with your desired toppings.

- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until doubled. *Preheat your oven at this time to 350 degrees.

- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

- Brush your rolls with the melted butter and enjoy!

There are a wide range of things you can add to these delicious rolls. From meat and cheese for the kiddos, to cinnamon sugar for an easy cinnamon roll up, the options are endless.

We hope you love these just as much as our entire family does!
